      PART I: DISRUPTION

Poem about the topic from the intersection of blackness and queerness.

      Part II :  QUARE

THE CONSENSUAL HALLUCINATION OF DEBATE AS USUAL SHORT CIRCUITS THE REVOLUTIONARY POTENTIAL OF THE DEBATE SPACE , BECOMING A DISTRACTION FROM ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING AND  FORCING DEBATERS OF COLOR TO FORGET  THE HARMS OF OUR SOCIAL REALITY.  THIS METHOD  OF  ENGAGING IS ONE THAT ALLOWS DEBATERS TO BE HEADS WITHOUT BODIES IN THE FANTASY OF ARMCHAIR ACTIVISM.

IN THE FACE OF FANTASY, THE 1NC IS AN ACT OF KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION THAT SUPPRESSES TRADITIONAL DEBATE IN AN EFFORT TO REFOCUS OUR DISCUSSIONS ON THE EFFECTS OF THE BODY. THIS REORIENTATION OF DEBATE IS NECESSARY TO DISSOLVE THE DISPASSIONATE, DISCONNECTED CONTRADICTIONS THAT OCCUR WHEN HIPSTER DEBATERS ARE ALLOWED TO REJECT CAPITALISM FROM A MACBOOK AND RACISM FROM THE INSOLES OF SWEATSHOP CONVERSES. TYING OUR ARGUMENTS TO AND SPEAKING FROM OUR SOCIAL LOCATION WITHIN DEBATE MAKES ALTERNATIVE FORMS OF KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION LEGITIMATE AND CHECKS THE HOMOGENIZING FUNCTION OF 'EXPERT' DISCOURSE.

      REID-BRINKLEY 08

Reid-Brinkley, Assistant Professor of Communication, 2008 (Shanara R., THE HARSH REALITIES OF “ACTING BLACK”: HOW AFRICAN-AMERICAN POLICY DEBATERS NEGOTIATE REPRESENTATION THROUGH RACIAL PERFORMANCE AND STYLE – dissertation University of Georgia, Speech Communication <http://graduate.gradsch.uga.edu/etdarchive/spring2008/reid-brinkley_shanara_r_200805_phd.pdf >

The process of signifyin’ … by the status of oppression.

THIS PERFORMANCE  IS  A QUARING OF DEBATE.  OUR METHODOLOGY ALLOWS US TO USE CULTURAL AGENCY TO ENACT PERMANENT STRUCTURAL CHANGE TO THE DOMINANT  AND EXCLUSIONARY INSTITUTION OF POLICY DEBATE.

JOHNSON 2K6 [Patrick E., “professor of African American studies and performance studies at Northwestern University, “Quare Studies or (almost) everything I know about Queer Studies I learned from my grandmother” in Black Queer Studies: A Critical Anthology]

Elaborating more … to plan an escape).

THEORIES IN THE FLESH ADD TO DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THE TOPIC. BY LOCATING CULTURAL POWER IN THE BODY, CRITICAL REFLECTION  ON  OUR STANDPOINT IN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY CAN BE USED TO UNDERSTAND AND CORRECT THE GREATER ROLES WE PLAY IN STRAIGHT,WHITE AMERICA.

Warren  and Fassett, 2004 The Johns Hopkins University Press. All rights reserved Theatre Topics 14.2 (2004) 411-430John T. Warren is an assistant professor in the School of Communication Studies at Bowling Green State University, where he teaches courses in performance, culture, identity, and power. Deanna L. Fassett is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies at San José State University, where she teaches courses in instructional communication and critical, feminist, and performative pedagogies.

Performative pedagogy, … invisibility of whiteness.

      PART III: THE SLAM

CONCENTRATING  SLAM  POETRY ON THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN RACE AND SEXUALITY REFOCUSES DESIRED EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES PRODUCES THE PEDAGOGICAL GAINS OF BOTH ACADEMIA AND PERSONAL LIFE.THE ONGOING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE SLAMMER AND THE AUDIENCE BREAKS DOWN  INTERPERSONAL VIOLENCE WHERE DIALOGUE MEETS PERFORMANCE.

      Boudreau 09

[Kathryn E. Boudreau, “Slam Poetry and Cultural Experience for Children” Associate Professor, Middle TennesseeStateUniversity,2009<http://forumonpublicpolicy.com/spring09papers/archivespr09/boudreau.pdf>]

The disconnection between  … a bona fide channel  for poetry appreciation.

    • 2AC Framework

FIRST IS  censorship– THE exclusion of critical views empties the public sphere .this impact turns all the net benefits to their interpretation.

BUTLER 04 [Judith, “Precarious Life :Intro” Pages 19-21]

Dissent and debate …a fugitive and suspect activity.

THEY FORCE JUDGE INTERVENTION SINCE ABUSE STORIES DEMAND AN EVALUATION ON THRESHHOLDS FOR THEORY THAT ARE IN CONSTANT FLUX

2AC #7 IS FAIRNESS---TRADITIONAL CONCEPTIONS OF FAIRNESS ARE BANKRUPT AND MARGINALIZING

      Delgado ‘92

[Delgado, Law Prof at U. of Colorado, 1992 [Richard, “Shadowboxing: An Essay On Power,” In Cornell Law Review, May]

We have cleverly built power's ….into "external" culture, so that we are now enamored with that way of judging action. First, we read our values and preferences into the culture; then we pretend to consult that culture meekly and humbly in order to judge our own acts.

      2AC GIVE BACK THE LAND

JOHNSON 2K6 [Patrick E., “professor of African American studies and performance studies at Northwestern University, “Quare Studies or (almost) everything I know about Queer Studies I learned from my grandmother” in Black Queer Studies: A Critical Anthology]

Unlike Champagne’s  deployment …, has gone uninterrogated.

      2AC CAP K

THIS METHOD  OF  ENGAGING  IN ALTERNATIVES WE KNOW WE WILL NOT ENACT AND WILL NOT SOLVE IS ONE THAT  SHAPES THIS SPACE TO ALLOW DEBATERS TO BE HEADS WITHOUT BODIES IN THE FANTASY OF ARMCHAIR ACTIVISM THAT SATIATES OUR DESIRE FOR REVOLUTION ,BUT THAT STOPS US FROM ACTUALLY EVALUATING THE TRUE ROOT CAUSES OF CAPITALISM.

      Zizek 08

      [Zizek , Slavoj  “-Violence “-2008- p. 6-8 ]

Does this recourse … it all the time

FOR THOSE IN NEED, CAPITALISM WILL ALWAYS REMAIN AN OPTION 2k

[John K, coordinator of the Independent Press Association’s Campus Journalism Project, How the Left can Win Arguments and Influence People, pages 14-17]

Capitalism is far too …populated by rich people

      JOHNSON 2K6

[Patrick E., “professor of African American studies and performance studies at Northwestern University, “Quare Studies or (almost) everything I know about Queer Studies I learned from my grandmother” in Black Queer Studies: A Critical Anthology

Because transgendered people… foreclose possibilities of change.
