The US-backed NTC has consistently targeted Black Libyans and migrant workers within the country.

      Manuel-Logan 12

[Ruth, writer for NEWSONE FOR BLACK AMERICA, and has written ESSENCE Magazine, Woman's Day, Parents, Harper's Bazaar, has contributed to health and lifestyle books and a host of online sites, “Libyan Rebels Cage Africans and Force Them To Eat Flags [Video]”, NEWSONE FOR BLACK AMERICA http://newsone.com/newsone-original/ruthlogan/libyan-rebels-cage-africans-and-force-them-to-eat-flags/ ]

Libya’s National Transitional Council, the country’s interim government....perpetrators of such acts responsible.”

weinheim55: @fuckoffnortherncunt “You need a black dick in your ass you son of a bitch?”

Mohammed29v: “These black guys were Qadhafi’s foreign troops, they have killed massive amounts of Libyans. So actually, this is a very human treatment for murderers.”

halilcasp: @ Mohammed29v “Oh realy? Were you there when they killed the Libyans? Go fuck yourself you dumbfuck future suicide bomber.”

Queerness marks the horizon of violence and subjectivity, the place where bodies are marked as objects outside the social order, deserving of all forms of abuse.

Stanley 11 (Eric, Radical queer activist and PhD Candidate at University of California – Santa Cruz, “Near Life, Queer Death: Overkill and Ontological Capture,” Social Text, Vol 29, No 2, 107, Sydnor)

“Dirty faggot!” Or simply, “Look, a Gay!” …. radical politics to come.

The humiliation and torture of the black Libyan prisoners can be read as a form of black queer violence. They cannot be allowed to remain as remnants of the former regime. They must be physically and symbolically obliterated, reduced to counting as objects, as nothingness. Death exceeding calculation: this is the violence toward the queer.

Stanley 11 (Eric, Radical queer activist and PhD Candidate at University of California – Santa Cruz, “Near Life, Queer Death: Overkill and Ontological Capture,” Social Text, Vol 29, No 2, 107, Sydnor)

The never-found knife ….as to remake them both.20

We cannot understand or respond to the US foreign policy in Libya as an isolated phenomenon. The status quo vs. the resolution is a forced choice: the violent democracy promotion of the Bush-era, or seemingly benign democracy assistance. Unquestioned are systems of normalization within liberal democracy that violently eliminate queer bodies from political calculations. Confronted with the resolution, we look to the social and political order that shapes foreign and domestic policies.

Reddy 11 (Chandan, Associate Professor of English at the University of Washington, Freedom with Violence: Race, Sexuality, and the US State, Sydnor)

Freedom with Violence is a work that explores …. such inquires available and ongoing.

When confronted with the overwhelming reality of anti-queer violence, what do we do? Pass another law? Fiat equality? Approaches that rely on rights and the law fail because they fracture violence into extreme aberrations, individual acts that can be corrected with a simple fix. The privatization of violence destroys the possibility of a structural analysis that recognizes such violence as a necessary part of liberal democracy.

Stanley 11 (Eric, Radical queer activist and PhD Candidate at University of California – Santa Cruz, “Near Life, Queer Death: Overkill and Ontological Capture,” Social Text, Vol 29, No 2, 107, Sydnor)

Where statistics fail, scars rise ….and rights as the technology, of safety.23

As debaters, CEDA offers the opportunity for reflection. Many affs from the beginning of the season are no longer inherent. The strategies change while the political situation remains the same- capitalism links, the European Union can probably do it better, and uncountable nuclear wars still loom large. With Obama’s promise of 800 million dollars to the Middle East, most other affs will soon be enacted.

      Anti-queer violence remains unaddressed.

Stanley 11 (Eric, Radical queer activist and PhD Candidate at University of California – Santa Cruz, “Near Life, Queer Death: Overkill and Ontological Capture,” Social Text, Vol 29, No 2, 15, Hallinan)

At 12:48 p.m. on 8 January 1999….that life might still be lived, otherwise.

Our foremost duty, when encountered with the end of a resolution, is to choose what we will take away. What will this topic mean? How will it remain, in both our records and collective consciousness? Blake and I refuse the call of policymaking in order to expose the anti-queer violence of the Libyan rebels as the remainder of the liberal democratic order. Our speech acts as an unresolved memorial that occupies the place of violence to articulate a new kind of life.
