CHAPTER 1 –
A. A. While the immediate threats may seem at an end, new challenges have emerged for reconstruction in the aftermath of rebellion and resistance. MALINOWSKI, et al. 201I
TOM MALINOWSKI, SARAH HOLEWINSKI, TAMMY SCHULTZ | AUGUST 11, 2011; “Post-Conflict Potter”; Foreign Policy; http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2011/08/11/post_conflict_potter ; Tom Malinowski is Washington director of Human Rights Watch. At last, the long war . . . . postwar stabilization still lies ahead.
Surviving . . . . .Our recommendations are summarized below.
Thousands of Death Eaters fought . . . .. who once used the torture curse?
D. Only a complete process of reconciliation, as defined by Flournoy and Pan, can assist in moving forward. MALINOWSKI, et al. 2011
In their aptly named essay, "Dealing with Demons," Michèle Flournoy and Michael Pan argue that the reconciliation pillar of post-conflict reconstruction requires more than just dealing with past abuses and grievances. . . . . . . .The legal and political reforms we advocate depend on the growth of civil society.
E. International cooperation and agreement will be key to prevent the reoccurrence of rights violations during the reconstruction process.
MALINOWSKI, et al. 2011
The great question remaining now . . .. placed on the U.S. Congress.
Thus, we advocate that the United States federal government should provide democracy assistance for Libya by providing reconciliation and judiciary support for post-conflict reconstruction.
